ESKO — Two seats will be on the ballot for Thomson Township residents Nov. 8.
Incumbent Terry Hill is facing a challenge from Amna Hanson for Seat A on the Thomson Township Board of Supervisors. Meanwhile, incumbent Ruth Janke is running against Parrish Silbernagel for Seat B.
The Cloquet Pine Journal sent questionnaires to all of the candidates. A response was not received from Silbernagel.
The candidates are listed based on the seat they're vying for and then in alphabetical order. Their responses have been edited for style and grammar.
Seat A
"I would like to represent a different demographic of Esko and give a voice to the young families that are making the choice to call Esko home," writes Amna Hanson.
"I want to continue to serve the residents of the township, as I enjoy having the ability to make a positive difference by drawing off my 20-plus years of having held a township supervisor position; many of those years I was town board chair," writes Terry Hill.
