The event will take place Sunday, March 25, at the Target Center in Minneapolis, prior to the Timberwolves game with the Portland Trailblazers.

Local qualifiers and winners in their age categories at the Region Eight Free Throw Championship include: Dillon Johnson (10-year-olds), Jacob Bushey and Gracie Sinisalo (11-year-olds), Emily Sinisalo (13-year-olds) and Claire Rosen (14-year-olds).

This is the fifth year that the state championship has been held in conjunction with the Timberwolves organization. Last year, some 5,000 girls and boys competed in over 200 local contests. This year, some 8,000 participants were expected to take part in all areas of Minnesota.
