Landlord, community meeting set for Tuesday

Residential landlords and community members are invited to learn more about affordable housing projects in Cloquet, tenant-landlord relations and lead-based paint information at a meeting Tuesday, April 17, at 10 a.m. in the Fireside Room at Aspen Arms, 950 14th St., Cloquet.

The Cloquet Housing & Redevelopment Authority (CHRA) welcomes experts to provide updates on affordable housing projects in Cloquet and speak on topics of interest to renters and the community. Jared Ackmann from Roers Companies will provide information on the Cloquet Middle School apartments and Debra Shaff of the CHRA will discuss the upcoming White Pine apartments.

Teri Carlson, an advocate for 1-Roof Housing’s Tenant Landlord Connection, will present information on fair housing laws and local government rules and requirements relevant to landlords and tenants. Greg Myers of Midwest Environmental Consulting will be on hand to discuss lead paint issues relevant to rental housing units.
