At their Oct. 1 annual board of directors meeting, Lakes and Pines Community Action Council announced the recipients for their 2007 Annual Award Recognition Program.
The Allies in Action Award was presented to Carlton County Human Services demonstrating excellence in support of the Community Action Mission. As a long time partner of the CAP agency, Carlton County has worked closely to enhance and deliver services consistent with the Lakes and Pines programming. As an example, through Project HOPE, the Human Services staff has shown strong collaboration in serving the area families. Carlton County displays their belief and commitment that individuals and families represent the foundation of communities.
Other award recipients included: Spirit of Community Award presented to Aitkin County Homeless Coalition; Volunteer of the Year Award to Veva Richards; Leona Dressel for the Roger E. Corbin-Staff Recognition Award; and to Julie Burk as a 25-Year Honoree (staff member).
