A lack of offensive production and some execution errors helped lead to the demise of the Barnum Bombers football team on Friday night in double overtime. Playing at home, the Bombers couldn't overcome their mistakes and fell 12-6 to Ogilvie.
"They are fast and talented," mentioned Barnum coach Kevin Haley. "They played very physical and probably are one of the most physical teams we played this year."
Neither team could score in regulation and as the teams headed for overtime, at times it looked as if they were seeing their own image in a mirror.
"I thought we matched up well with them," explained Haley. "They were quick, but so are we. They run a two tight end offensive set and really look to smash it down the middle, a lot like we do."
The first overtime saw Ogilvie score on their possession when they pounded the ball in on a 5-yard touchdown run. However, Ogilvie missed the extra point and on their possession the Bombers scored when Kris Adams also crashed in from the 5-yard line. But, just like Ogilvie, the Bombers missed their chance to win the game when they couldn't convert the extra point kick.

Ogilvie finally won the game in the second overtime when Marshall Flettre-Wubben pranced in on a 6-yard touchdown run.
"Offensively, we had some bright plays here and there, but mistakes and a lack of execution hurt us," Haley remarked. "We turned the ball over four times and had 11 penalties. When we would put a drive together, we would stall it with a couple of mistakes."
Kris Adams led the Bombers with 60 yards on the ground. Defensively, both Josh Earlywine and Erik Johnson had interceptions. Kyle Grimm and Dylan Eggen were both superb on defense as they finished with 16 and 14 tackles, respectively.
