Josephine Mary Erickson, 85, of Cloquet, Minn., went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at her home. She was born in Duluth, Minn., to Domenica (Ronca) and Giuseppe Cavallero. She graduated from Old Central High School in Duluth. She worked at the Diamond Match Factory in Cloquet for a short time and worked for many years at Cloquet Quality Cleaners. She married Arvid Erickson in 1947. They had six children. Josie was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was proud to be a 50-plus-year member of the Ladies' Get Together Club and an active member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (Queen of Peace) Catholic Church. She loved going camping with her family and staying connected in her children's and grandchildren's lives.
Josie was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; her husband, Arvid; infant daughter Janet; step-grandson Paul; and many close friends.
She is survived by her children, Mary Jo (Abe) Farleigh of Cloquet, John (Lara) Erickson of San Diego, Calif., Jayne Erickson of Tipton, Iowa, Jean (Paul) Farleigh of Cloquet, and Rick (Lorie) Erickson of Bayfield, Wis.; grandchildren, Kevin (Diana) Farleigh, Eric (Shonta) Farleigh, Adrienne (Adam) Strickland, Travis Farleigh, Hannah Erickson and Alison Erickson; great-grandchildren, Jade, Michael and Ethan Farleigh, Angela and Donald Lalonde, Treven, Taylor and Austin Farleigh, Paul Farleigh, and Elizabeth Strickland. She will also be missed by many friends and her extended family, Jeanette (Farleigh) Carlson and her husband and children, Tracy, Chrissie, April and Richard; and Helen (Farleigh) Lang.
Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 3, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Cloquet. Inurnment is in Old Calvary Cemetery, Cloquet.
