John Emil Juusola, 87, of Carlton died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, in Community Memorial Hospital, Cloquet. John was born in 1919, the son of Jack and Jennie Juusola. He married Arline Norgrant on Dec. 15, 1965, in Barnum. John worked for Potlatch Corporation in Cloquet and retired in 1983 after 31 years of employment. He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Carlton and will fondly be remembered as being an "outstanding handyman."
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charlie Juusola; and a sister, Esther Peterson.
John is survived by his wife of 43 years, Arline of Carlton; three children John Jr. (Joyce) of Friendswood, Texas, Carl (Joyce) of Park Rapids, Minn., and Deborah Birkeland of Broomfield, Colo.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Katy Ballantyne of Spirit Lake, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held.
