Jerome "Jerry" Francis Kujawa, 72, of Esko passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth. He was born Jan. 31, 1935, in Cloquet to Frank and Julia (Marciniak) Kujawa. Jerry was a life long area resident and worked as a heavy equipment operator most of his life. He loved hunting, fishing, playing the guitar and singing.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, David; and one sister, Barbara.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; three sons, Jamie (Carol) Kujawa of Minneapolis, Paul Kujawa of Snohomish, Wash., and David (Becky) Kujawa of Lawler; two daughters, Diana (Richard) Perry of Minneapolis and Jody (Jim) Elwell of Duluth; one step-son, Randall Juntunen of Duluth; three step-daughters, Cheryl Mohn of Duluth, Susan (Manny) Umpierre of Esko, and Sandra (Tim) Sundstrom of Esko; one brother, Greg Kujawa of Pengilly; one sister, Frances (Lyle) Hill of Cloquet; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Aug. 7, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial Mass at St. Francis Catholic Church in Carlton, celebrated by the Rev. Father Keith Bertram. Music was provided by Cheryl Kramer-Milder as soloist and Cindy Crotteau as organist. Inurnment services followed at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
