Elizabeth Jaakola of Cloquet was one of the recipients of an Arrowhead Regional Arts Council (ARAC) recently.
The ARAC awarded grants totaling $3,960 in the McKnight/ARAC Individual Artist Career Development Grants Program and $3,000 in the McKnight/ARAC Artist of Color Career Development Grants Program.
The funding for these grants is made available through an appropriation from The McKnight Foundation and the Minnesota State Legislature.
Jaakola was awarded a $1,000 Artist of Color Career Development Grant. Jaakola, a vocalist, will use this grant to produce a CD containing recordings of music she has composed, performed and produced.
