A deer hunter who was located after becoming lost in Thomson Township last Saturday once again failed to show up at the end of the day on Wednesday after hunting in the same area.

A deer hunter who was located after becoming lost in Thomson Township last Saturday once again failed to show up at the end of the day on Wednesday after hunting in the same area.

Stephen Woollett, 50, of Cloquet, was located by ground crews on Wednesday night around 9 p.m. Woollett was tended to by on-scene medical personnel before being transported to Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet for treatment.

Around 7 p.m. earlier that evening, the Carlton County Sheriff's Office had received a request from Minnesota conservation officers asking deputies to assist in searching for a hunter who was reportedly lost in an area just off Highway 61 in Thomson Township near the St. Louis River.

Deputies responded to the scene and also requested assistance from the St. Louis County Rescue Squad, the Carlton County Sheriff's Mounted Posse, Esko Fire Department, Carlton Fire Department, Cloquet Ambulance, Scanlon Fire Department and Cloquet Police.

On November 8, Woollett and a 26-year-old hunting partner both were reported lost in that same area. The two were located separately by ground crews and the Minnesota State Patrol Helicopter and were found to be suffering from hypothermia due to the fact they were underdressed for the weather.
