Have you been seeking a job and can't get past the interview process or even get a call for an interview? Through the Community Education program, Phyllis Ducey from the Human Resources department of Community Memorial Hospital will be giving a course called "How Not to Get a Job."
This two-session class will focus on what to put and what not to put on applications as well as what to say and not to say during an interview. She will also discuss interview etiquette, dress, and the "red flags" that cause a person not to be considered.
The classes will be Thursday, Jan. 18 and 25, at 6:30 p.m. at Cloquet High School. Registration is through Community Education at 879-1261 and there is a fee of $3 to cover the room rental.
"I moved from the suburbs of Chicago and have been with Community Memorial Hospital for 15 months now," said Ducey. "When I first started reviewing applications and interviewing I was quite taken a back at how unprepared candidates were, not only in their interview but on their applications."
Ducey further stated the reason she wanted to do the class was because she has found there are many good, hard working candidates who are not getting jobs because they do not know how or take the time to properly fill out their application and what is the proper follow-up. She hopes to give them the tools that will take them a step forward in their job search.
