Helen R. Korbi, 82, of Esko went to join her husband and be with the Lord on Friday, April 20, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. She was born Dec. 25, 1924, in Duluth to Nick and Jenny Ojala. Helen attended the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Esko. She was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary in Carlton. Helen loved to spend time with her family and visit with friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, on Dec. 25, 1990; four sisters; and a brother.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Gale (Asa) Stephenson of Henderson, Nev., Brenda (Dan) Kath of Esko and Judy (Randy) Davern of Esko; sons, Richard (Nancy) Korbi of Esko and Todd Korbi of Esko; four grandchildren, Shane, Jennifer, Luke and Alexander; one great-grandson, Jacob; and brother, Robert Ojala of Coon Rapids, Minn.
Memorial service will be Friday, April 27, at 2 p.m. at Apostolic Lutheran Church, 25 Church Road in Esko with Pastor Gary Kangas officiating.
