Some Carlton County municipalities to conduct special elections via mail
The following Carlton County townships and cities will conduct their Tuesday, Feb. 5, special general elections for Minnesota Senate District 11 by mail ballot:
• Barnum City;
• Beseman Township;
• Clear Creek Township;
• Corona Township;
• Cromwell City;
• Holyoke Township;
• Kalevala Township;
• Kettle River City;
• Progress Township;
• Red Clover Township;
• Sawyer Township;
• Split Rock Township;
• Wrenshall City;
• Wrenshall Township;
• Wright City.
Non-forwarded mail ballots will be mailed to all residents registered as soon as possible before Tuesday who reside in those municipalities, according to the Carlton County Auditor's Office.
Those who reside in those municipalities who aren't registered to vote, plan to be absent during the mailing period, haven't received a ballot or have a spoiled mail ballot should contact the Auditor's Office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Voted mail ballots may be returned to the Auditor's Office by mail or be personally submitted to the Auditor's Office on the second floor of the courthouse between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. No special general election ballots may be accepted after 8 p.m. Tuesday.
On Tuesday, residents of mail ballot precincts may register and vote in-person at the Auditor's Office between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Ballots will be counted at the Auditor's Office after 8 p.m. Tuesday.
