Goessling posts narrow Nordic win

Junior Raleigh Goessling of Cloquet-Esko-Carlton edged Jay Woodbeck of Houghton, Mich., by 3/10ths of a second Saturday to win the three-kilometer Duluth Marshall sprints boys title in 3 minutes, 24.2 seconds. Woodbeck was second in 3:24.5.

Duluth East senior Alena Tofte won the girls sprint in 3:56.8 and junior teammate Marian Lund was second in 4:06.4.
