Cloquet's next Friday Fest will be a family-friendly spooky affair celebrating Halloween, complete with tricks, treats and a haunted maze Friday, Oct. 26, from 5-8 p.m.
Costumes are encouraged with a prize to be given for the most unique one.
Outside, fest-goers will find a haunted maze/yard next to First National Plaza. Creepy-crawly things such as snakes, cockroaches, spiders including tarantulas, frogs and a tortoise will also be on display, courtesy of Roger Hill and his business, The Snake Pit.
"The real spookiness will be outside," said event organizer Stephanie Wehr.
Scary storytelling will also take place outside. Face painting to complement costumes will be available as will a variety of food and beverage vendors. The St.-Paul-based band, Red Veda, will play from 6-8 p.m. and kids can trick-or-treat at area businesses.
Less spooky adventures await inside First National Plaza, which will be transformed into a "Wizard of Oz" wonderland with characters, trick-or-treating and hot apple cider.
The last Friday Fest event of the season, on Nov. 30, will be a holiday theme. Anyone willing to volunteer to make it a success should call Stephanie Wehr at (218) 879 8802.
