The College of St. Scholastica men's and women's soccer team will travel to Europe next season for the second time in a four-year span.

Expected to make the trip will be two former Cloquet-Esko-Carlton players, Colin Lindemood and Chris Umpierre, who are members of the 2008 freshman class.

St. Scholastica is currently in the midst of a fund raising campaign to help defer some of the expenses of the 12-day trip, which will include four games for both teams.

Players are selling raffle tickets with the top prize of a trip to England, among other activities, according to Saints coach David Robinson.

The men's soccer team is also hosting a high school pre-season camp and indoor soccer leagues for youth and adults.

In 2005, the Saints traveled to England and Scotland under men's head coach Barry Chastey.

"The main idea of the trip is to prepare the team for the upcoming season," commented Robinson. "In addition to this our players will have the opportunity to visit, train at, and watch games at some of the premier facilities in England. The whole soccer experience will be unbelievable for all our athletes."
