Firefighters were called to a residential fire at 5511 Munger Shaw Road shortly after 1 p.m. today. By the time they arrived, the house was already fully engulfed in flames. The Grand Lake Township fire department headed up the effort, receiving assistance from Hermantown, Canosia Township and Air National Guard fire units.
Grand Lake Fire Chief David Fremling said the home was a total loss. No estimate of value is yet available.
The cause of the blaze has yet to be determined. No one was apparently at the residence when the fire began. The home belonged to Ardell Miller.
