Evan James Tiessen, 19, of Sawyer passed away accidentally Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, in Sawyer, Minn. He was born Nov. 3, 1987, in Duluth, Minn., to Glen Tiessen and Hope Copa. Evan was an enrolled member of the Fond du Lac Band of the Lake Superior Chippewa. He enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, fishing and dirt biking.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hope; brother Nathan; grandmother Katie Olson; and grandfather John Tiessen.
Evan is survived by his father, Glen (Amy); brothers and sisters, Starr (Scrub) Copa, Brooke (Jesus) Copa, Dylan Tiessen and Darrin (Beezy) Tiessen; nine nieces and nephews; and many close friends, including John Korby, and other relatives.
Visitation began Saturday, Oct. 13, at 5 p.m. and continued throughout the evening until the Traditional Service at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, in the Sawyer Center, Sawyer. Interment was in Sawyer Cemetery, Sawyer.
