Esther Evelyn Hyttinen, 92, of Cloquet passed away peacefully to her heavenly home on Wednesday, March 14, 2007. She was born Nov. 2, 1914, in Scanlon to Ole and Anna (Johnson) Johnson. She married Matt Hyttinen on Dec. 22, 1934, in Cloquet. Esther was well known for her rug making and she was very proud that the loom she worked on for over 30 years had been made by her husband.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997; her parents; her sister and brother; and grandson Adam Hyttinen.
Esther is survived by her children, Carol (John) Altringer of Loveland, Colo., Roger (Cathy) of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Stuart (Tammy) of LaCrosse, Wis.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five nieces and 10 nephews.
Visitation was held Saturday, March 17, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service in Zion Lutheran Church, Cloquet. Spring interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Cloquet.
