The Esko boys basketball team continued their early season roll of close games last Friday when they managed to sneak out a 58-56 road win over the Floodwood Polar Bears.

Esko led the game at halftime by a 35-30 score, but the Polar Bears charged back in the second half and kept the game dead even until Jeremy Syrjanen hit a base line jump shot with just four ticks remaining on the clock.

For the game, Esko actually made two fewer shots from the field than the Polar Bears, but the Eskomos' ability to get to the free-throw line and make their free shots was a big difference in the game. Esko went 14-for-21 from the line, while the Polar Bears were 7-of-19.
