Esko took a strong first half and then held on to defeat Duluth Central in girls basketball 57-51 on Friday night.
Amber Jubie, Amanda Bergstedt and Roz Chromy led the team on offense.
"We played well for three quarters of the game," said Esko coach Sue Northey. "We built up a 20-point lead only to let it slip away. However, we did hang tough and pulled out the victory."
Jubie had a terrific game on offense, finishing with 18 points, Bergstedt wasn't far behind with 15 and Chromy was solid with 10 points.
After Esko racked up a sizable lead in the second half, the Trojans made a huge surge that pulled them right back into the game.
