Erna Doris Asperheim, 81, of Cloquet passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, in the Community Memorial Hospital, Cloquet. She was born June 1, 1926, in Stanchfield, Minn., to Raymond and Cora (Westin) Barthine.
She was preceded in death by her brother Harvey, her parents, and son Bob Young.
Erna is survived by her husband, Frank; children, Bev Hujanen of Cloquet, Julie (John) Thomas of Braham, Minn., Tim Young of Cloquet, Tom (Roni) Young of Esko, Cheryle (Gary) Christianson of Bismarck, N.D., Wendy Asperheim of Devils Lake, N.D., Darren (Gretchen) Asperheim of Larimore, N.D., Derrick (Tonya) Gutting of Maryland, Marissa Nelson of Larimore, N.D., Fred Young of Floodwood, Gene Young of Nevada, Dan Young of Oregon, Mary Young of Iowa and Linda Cheney of Coon Rapids, Minn.; 54 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brother Dennis (Carmella) Barthine of Matawan, N.J.; sister, Elaine Cedergren of North Branch, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 5-8 p.m. in Handevidt Funeral Home, Cloquet. The visitation continued Thursday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Zion Lutheran Church, Cloquet. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
