Edward Clifford Stansfield, 69, of Cloquet passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at his home. He was born April 22, 1938, in Pittsburgh, Penn. Ed served with the United States Air Force for eight years including some time in Greenland and Florida. He has been an area resident since 1967 and worked as a crew chief for the Air National Guards. Ed was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1163 in Cloquet.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by two sons, David (Pam) Stansfield of Hermantown and Mark Stansfield of Mesa, Ariz.; two daughters, Julie Stansfield and Laurie Stansfield, both of Mesa, Ariz.; one brother, Bill Stansfield of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Bonnie and Nancy, both of Pennsylvania; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Tuesday, July 10, from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. memorial service at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet, conducted by Deacon Terry Twomey. Military honors were presented by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard.
