Dorothy F. Froehlich, 96, of Meadowlands, Minn., passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, at Viewcrest Health Center in Duluth, Minn. She was born May 27, 1912, in Roswell, S.D., to James and Vivian (Vincent) Thompson and moved to the Meadowlands area in 1918.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold M. Froehlich, in 1971; and one infant brother.
She is survived by four children, Milton (Meredith) Froehlich of Annandale, Minn., James (Berit) Froehlich of Duluth, Marilyn Stauber of Saginaw, Minn., and Carolyn Salo (Arne Jamsa) of Grand Rapids; nine grandchildren, Deb (Marty) Essen, Calvin (Denise) Froehlich, Tom (Paula) Froehlich, Linda (Ron) Miller, Shelly Jackson, Shari (Jeff) Melsa, Sheila Salo, Ken (Sherry) Atkinson, Jim (Julie) Atkinson; 18 great-grandchildren, Sean Essen, Calisha, Conner and Celeste Froehlich, Laura, Rebecca, Rachel and Timothy Froehlich, Brianna and Hunter Miller, Bryce Jackson, Kali Melsa, Mariah Salo-McNeil, Dave, John and Jenny Atkinson, and Kurt and Scott Atkinson; one great-great-granddaughter, Fiona Essen; one sister, Helen Mattson; a special niece, Raelene Obeidzinski; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 7, from noon until the 1 p.m. memorial service at Nelson Funeral Care, 1004 Cloquet Ave., Cloquet, followed by a luncheon in the fellowship room. Inurnment services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Meadowlands Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Meadowlands Methodist Church.
