David Proulx, 55, of Ruthven, Iowa, passed away Monday, April 2, 2007, in Ruthven, Iowa. He was born May 10, 1951, in Cloquet to Louis and Mardelle (LeMay) Proulx and attended Cloquet High School. After high school, David moved to Clearwater, Fla., where he worked at Florida Brake & Clutch for several years before returning to Cloquet in the mid-1970s. He then worked as a mechanic for Moses Chevrolet and Paul's Service Station prior to owning and operating his own station on Cloquet Avenue. He most recently owned and operated the Happy Hour Lounge & Cafe in Graettinger, Iowa, for the last 10 years. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. David enjoyed spending time at his cabin on Eagle Lake and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed the Minnesota Vikings. He was a kind, fun loving guy and will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

David was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Paul Proulx.

He is survived by his daughters, Kelly Proulx of Superior, Wis., and Nicole Proulx and Amanda Proulx of Cloquet; his mother, Mardelle Proulx of Cloquet; one brother, Don (Elisa) Proulx of Culver; six sisters, Julie (Don) Johnson of Mahtowa, Rita (Mick) Maslowski of Escanaba, Mich., Margi Proulx of Cloquet, Barb (Mark) Brown of Carlton, Mary (Don) Hoyt of Duluth, and Teri Proulx of Duluth; sister-in-law, Davie Proulx of Cloquet; four grandchildren, Brandon Werbelow, Dominick Proulx, and Alexis and Dante Thompson; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation was held Monday, April 9, from 5-7 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. The visitation resumed Tuesday, April 10, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service also at Nelson Funeral Care. Interment services will be held in the spring at New Calvary Cemetery.
