An individual was shot by an officer at a mobile home park in Moose Lake Monday while police were attempting to serve felony warrants.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said the incident occurred about 4:30 p.m. at Hillside Terrace Mobile Home Park.
Members of the Carlton County Consolidated Emergency Response team used a flashbang device to aid in entering the home, according to the BCA. At one point, an officer fired a weapon and the person whom the warrant was intended for was shot.
Officers and paramedics provided first aid at the scene, the BCA said. The injured person was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake and then transferred by air ambulance to Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center. No report was immediately available on the individual’s condition. None of the individuals involved were named in the BCA’s news release.
No one else was injured, the BCA said.
It was not immediately known if there was a video of the incident, the BCA said.
When the investigation is complete, the BCA’s findings will be turned over to the Carlton County Attorney’s Office.
