Three people were injured a two-car crash at the intersection of Midway and Stark roads in Midway Township Sunday afternoon.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office said the collision was "a serious T-bone accident" that left one vehicle upside down and caused the temporary closure of Midway Road.

A 74-year-old Duluth man was taken to St. Luke's hospital with what authorities described as non-life-threatening injuries. His condition was stable Sunday night, the sheriff's office reported. Two juvenile females in the second vehicle were injured as well, authorities said. One was transported to Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center by ambulance, and the other in a private vehicle. The sheriff's office reported Sunday night that both were treated and released.

Witnesses on the scene told investigators that the juveniles were traveling west on Stark Road and failed to stop at the intersection, crashing into the man's vehicle and forcing it into the ditch. The truck driven by the juveniles overturned and came to rest on its roof. Both vehicles sustained serious damage.

The sheriff's office reported that all parties were wearing seat belts, and that driver inexperience was likely a factor in the crash.
