Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College announces a new lifelong learning program for learners 50 years of age and over will begin conducting classes Sept. 15.
Appropriately titled "College for Seniors," the convenient program is structured around a variety of courses designed to stimulate the intellectual, emotional and physical well-being of older adults in order to enrich their lives and enhance general well-being.
Eighteen courses will be available from various disciplines including science, communications, Anishinaabe studies, art, economics, personal safety, clean energy, and more. These non-credit courses require no prior education, and no difficult assignments or exams. College for Seniors courses will be taught by faculty members at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College and other experienced instructors from the community, and some courses will be led by the participants.
Courses are scheduled once a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays for two hours per session. The length of courses varies from either one, two or four sessions long, depending on the topic.
"Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College has been committed to providing learning opportunities for all segments of our communities," said Candi Broeffle, customized training representative at the college.

"From hosting an early childhood learning center on campus, to our College in the High Schools and Postsecondary Enrollment Options programs, traditional on-campus and outreach programs, workforce development projects and now the College for Seniors, we are working hard to offer something for everyone."
