The first annual health fair at Community Memorial Hospital and Sunnyside Health Care Center was held on April 10 and included a number of health screenings, advice on healthy eating (complete with samples), information from area businesses and opportunities to win prizes.
Health screenings included blood pressure, cholesterol, body mass index and diabetes.
Many prizes were donated by local merchants and helped make the day a success, including Upper Lakes Foods, B&B Market, L&M, Cloquet Service Center, Cloquet Greenhouse, Wal-Mart, Vision Pro, Premier Theatres, Pine Hill Golf, Sam's Club, Cellular One, Comfort Zone, Myrt Massages, Edward Jones, Wells Fargo, US Bank, CornerStone Bank, AAA, Innoviant, LifeWorks, Delta Dental and Comprehensive Care Services.
Hospital management said it is only right that as a health care organization they do everything possible to help employees be healthy and maintain that good health.
They pointed out having an annual health fair is one of the ways they can achieve this goal.
