All-Conference selections have been announced for the Lake Superior Conference in girls volleyball for this season. Cloquet had three players named to the All-Conference Team including two players on the first team.
Montana Vichorek and Alyssa Wappes, both seniors at Cloquet, were named to the first team. Vichorek surpassed 1,000 digs earlier this season and is also the Jacks' most dominant player at the net. Wappes is a clutch all-around player, with an impressive jump serve that can turn a game with great defense, or net play.
Hermantown had a pair of players, Kelly Fichtner and Sannie Olson, also named to the first team while Lindsay Wiebe of Ashland and Chelsey Ujdur of Denfeld were also named first team all conference.
Cloquet setter Taylor Sautbine was named to the second team along with Cortney Ebel of Hermantown, Brooke Morin of Proctor, Clare Lulich of Ashland, Caitlin Keute of Superior and Denfeld's Samantha Johnson.
Sautbine was impressive in leading the Cloquet offense and in the middle of the season developed as a threat with the ability to jump-tip at the net and put the ball down on the floor for a quick point.
