Cloquet Squirt A hockey team wins District 11 championship

The Cloquet Squirt A team claimed the Minnesota District 11 Championship with a 4-3 overtime victory over the Hermantown Squirt A team at Fryberger Arena on Monday, March 3.

The Cloquet Squirt A team claimed the Minnesota District 11 Championship with a 4-3 overtime victory over the Hermantown Squirt A team at Fryberger Arena on Monday, March 3.

This win capped off a season of highlights including the Consolation Championship in the WDIO-TV Squirt A Tournament at Mars Lakeview Arena in December and a second place win in the Brainerd Squirt A Tournament in February.

The Cloquet Squirt As ended the season with a 24-10-4 record. The championship win was the culmination of a season of hard work, skill development and teamwork.

Minnesota District 11 is a youth hockey governing body that oversees 11 associations throughout northeastern Minnesota. There are eight Squirt A teams from Cloquet, Duluth, Proctor, and Hermantown within District 11.
