The Cloquet sixth grade math team took home top honors in its Math Masters competition. Members included Patrick Radosevich, Devin Cary, Kyra Kramer, Matthew Mangan and Ezra Randall.
Traditionally, this competition takes place in Duluth and features only local schools. This year, the competition was run virtually and they competed against schools from Wisconsin, North Dakota and the Twin Cities. Students took the tests at school and scores were submitted virtually. Out of the 25 teams, Cloquet took first place.
In addition to the team honors, several students placed in individual portions: Devin Cary placed second in the fact drill and second in the individual rounds; Jacob Parks placed ninth in the fact drill; and Kyra Kramer placed fifth in the individual round.
The team was funded by a Cloquet Education Foundation grant.
