In late November, a Cloquet man pleaded innocent in Carlton County Court to three counts involving criminal sexual conduct.
Frank Edward Kutzler, 41, is charged with three counts of felony criminal sexual conduct in the second degree for allegedly touching a child inappropriately on at least two occasions.
Last spring, the victim's mother contacted the Cloquet Police Department after her daughter wrote her a letter describing the abuse, according to court documents.
Detective Darrin Berg interviewed the victim who said she thought she was in third grade when he put his hands under her clothing while watching a movie with him. Two years later, another time while watching a movie in a hot tub, Kutzler had sexual contact with her, court documents said. The victim told Berg the reason she reported it now was that she was taking a class in sexual education at school and these incidents bothered her.
The victim's mother contacted Kutzler, who allegedly said he remembered touching the girl in a sexual manner, but that he stopped when "his youngest daughter was born."

Kutzler was booked into the jail and released on his own recognizance. His case is set for settlement conference on Jan. 20.
