Cloquet High School junior Amanda Rosemore has been selected to attend the Minnesota House of Representatives High School Page Program Jan. 22-26.
One candidate was chosen from each district, and Rosemore will represent District 8A.
High School Page Program participants are exposed to a wide variety of experiences, designed to provide them with a deep understanding of our state government.
During her time as a page, Rosemore will attend individual meetings with legislators designed to allow students to discuss the issues that matter most to them. She and her fellow pages from all districts in Minnesota will also:
- Experience the legislative process firsthand by assisting members during legislative session.
- Participate in a mock committee session designed to develop students' leadership skills and to inspire them to think critically about the issues confronting our state.
- Provide students with the opportunity to meet with constitutional officers, members of the judiciary, lobbyists, and members of the media.
Rosemore serves as a student council representative for the Cloquet School Board, is one of two student city councilors with the Cloquet City Council, is a member of National Honor Society, and is active in several other school-related and civic activities.
