After a close first half, the Chisholm Bluestreaks slowly pulled away for a 39-31 victory over the Carlton Bulldogs in girls basketball on Thursday night. The game was the second of the season for the Bulldogs.
"We played much better against Chisholm than we did in our first game against Marshall," explained Carlton coach Dave Battaglia. "We played with more intensity and better defense."
The Bulldogs trailed by just one point, 18-17, at halftime, but their problems were already becoming evident in the form of Chisholm player Alyssa Amic.
"We had a hard time stopping her," mentioned Battaglia of Amic who finished with 23 points. "But we're improving with each game."
The game saw a lot of fouling with Chisholm going to the free throw line 25 times and Carlton 24 times during the game.

"The girls are working hard and giving their best effort," Battaglia said. "We need to get a win to build some confidence."
