Show off your chili cooking skills or just enjoy the fun of sampling as many as 20 varieties of chili on Saturday, Jan. 20, from 1-5 p.m. at the NorthEastern Saloon in Cloquet.
The chili cook-off is a benefit to raise money for the Polar Bear Plunge, which is a Special Olympics fund raiser. The chili cook-off is sponsored by the Sunnyside Plungers and includes employees from Sunnyside Health Care Center and Community Memorial Hospital.
If you are interested in competing in the competition, contact Deb Kucera at 879-8669. There is no registration fee to enter the competition, but if you would rather just enjoy an afternoon of tasting rather than cooking, the cost is $7 to sample up to 20 different types of chili, along with a tap beer.
The Special Olympics fund raiser "The Polar Bear Plunge" will take place Saturday, Feb. 3, as teams from around the area plunge into the icy waters of Lake Superior.
