Charges have been filed against two adults and two juveniles in relation to a burglary in rural Blackhoof Township.

According to Carlton County Sheriff Kelly Lake, deputies responded to the residential burglary complaint during the morning hours of Dec. 17. The home owners were reporting that their home had been broken into and numerous items, including Christmas gifts, were stolen.

Lake indicated several simmilar incidents have occurred during the last month in and around Carlton County.

As a result of continuing investigations with multiple law enforcement agencies, suspect identification was evolving at the time of the most recent burglaries.

At approximately 3 p.m., deputies from the Carlton County Sheriff's Office arrested Michael Robert Berg, 23, of Wrenshall, and Nathan Terry Berg, 19, of Duluth, along with a 15-year-old male and a 17-year-old male in relation to the Dec. 17 residential burglaries.

With the assistance of the Duluth Police Department, Carlton County investigators recovered numerous stolen items of property in Wrenshall and West Duluth.

Both Michael Berg and Nathan Berg are being charged with seven counts of second degree burglary and the two juvenile males are being charged with two counts of second degree burglary.

Sheriff Kelly Lake urges the public to report all suspicious activity to local law enforcement agencies.
