CEC tennis suffers 6-1 loss to Ashland

Cloquet-Esko-Carlton managed just one victory in their 6-1 loss to Ashland in girls tennis last Thursday. The lone CEC victory came at No. 3 doubles when Reilly Kedrowski and Kara Cresap defeated Jenny MacKenzie and Alyssa Dietz 7-5, 6-4.

CEC, which knocked off Duluth Marshall earlier last week, saw the Oredockers win in every other slot. Dianna Reader defeated CEC's Kelsey Collier at No. 1 singles, Lyndi Thompson defeated Alicen Johnson of CEC at No. 2 singles, Olivia Hudson defeated CEC's Ines Horvathova at No. 3, and Jessica Newman slipped by Sheila Martin in No. 4 singles play.

In doubles it was Ashland's Brittni Westlund and Brie Larson winning at No. 1 doubles over CEC's Rebecca Lind and Sydnee Burud-Erickson, and at No. 2 doubles the CEC team of Savannah Hanson and Katrina Korman fell to Kristin Kontney and Hailey Retaskie.
