Catherine M. Maki, 77, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, Minn. She was born April 19, 1930, in Ashland, Wis., to William and Mable (Roy) Noe and graduated from Ashland High School. Cathy was united in marriage to Raymond T. Maki on Feb. 18, 1950, also in Ashland. She had worked for Diamond Match Company in Cloquet.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond T. Maki; and one sister, Elaine Veda.
She is survived by two nephews, Bob (Janet) Veda of Wis., and Bill (Barb) Veda of Md.; one niece, Diana (George) Noll of Eau Claire, Wis.; three great-nieces, Kari (Pat) Kloen, Shanon Veda and Jennifer; one great-nephew, Michael Krcmar; two great-great-grandnephews, Peyton and Eli; her special family, Ron and Brenda Huisinger of Cloquet; special grandchildren, David Huisinger and Melissa (Derek) Hills; and one great-granddaughter, Makayla Hills.
Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 8, from 11 a.m. until the noon memorial service at Nelson Funeral Care, 1004 Cloquet Avenue, Cloquet, followed by a luncheon reception in the fellowship room. Inurnment services will be at a later date at St. Agnes Cemetery in Ashland.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Vicki Anderson, Andy Coathup and the staff at Inter-Faith Care Center of the special care given to Cathy.
