Through the years, Moose Lake-Willow River and Carlton have hooked up for some memorable volleyball matches. On Friday night, the Bulldogs defeated the Rebels 3-1 by scores of 25-19, 25-22, 15-25 and 25-22.
"That was a great win for us," recalled Carlton coach Barb Soukkala. "I hope it gives the girls confidence in that they can win."
Amber Bloom pounded out 22 kills for Carlton in helping to lead her team to the victory.
"We really didn't have an answer for Amber if she got a good swing off," explained Rebels coach Sue Caroline. "Carlton played a nice match and forced errors for us as well."
The Rebels, playing at home, were led by Hillary Peterson's 11 kills, Sheenagh Caroline's nine kills and Maggie Ackerson's 26 set assists. Karley Rentz finished with seven kills for the Rebels.
