Carlton High School Peer Helpers sponsored the Third Annual Women in Learning Day for junior high girls.

The peer helpers coordinated activities focused on helping the junior high girls manage difficult situations in their lives such as peer and dating pressures.

"The peer helpers role-played different situations where girls often find themselves making tough decisions," said Wendy Williamson, Carlton High School counselor. "The junior high girls had the opportunity to see how they can make positive decisions in their life in high school."

Throughout the day women from the high school staff and community presented workshops about skin care, hygiene, stress reduction, creativity and journaling.

The junior high girls worked on personal mission statements for themselves and had the opportunity to network with the peer helpers.
