Carlton's baseball team finished the season 11-9 with a loss to Deer River in the second round of the section playoffs.
This year's Bulldog team was a fairly veteran one, with six seniors lost to graduation this spring. Caleb Hatfield, Ben Rapp and Adam Schmitz all saw extended playing time during the season. However, a solid underclass led by junior centerfielder Joey Broneak will vie for leadership roles next season.
"We have some holes to fill," coach Scott Battaglia said. "We'll have lots of underclassmen playing next year, so there could be a year or two of learning ahead. Some of the kids haven't played much varsity ball, but we have a group of young kids who are talented baseball-wise."
