Cody Hendrickson and Adam Smith took advantage of superior offensive line blocking by their teammates on Tuesday night in leading Cromwell to a 53-14 thrashing of Isle. So dominant was the Cards line play that it allowed for Hendrickson to total 312 yards on offense and Smith to catch enough passes to end up with 130 yards in receptions.

Hendrickson slithered in from the 2-yard line in the first quarter to give the Cards a 6-0 lead and then Hendrickson hooked up with Smith on a 50-yard touchdown pass and catch for a 12-0 lead before the quarter was over.

Isle cut the lead to 12-6 early in the second quarter on a Jared Oswald 18-yard touchdown run, but the Cards came right back with a 26-yard touchdown pass from Hendrickson to Smith and a Hendrickson 5-yard touchdown run. Jordan Smith caught a pass for a two-point conversion on the first score and the Cards led it 26-6 at halftime.

The fireworks started early in the second half when Hendrickson returned the kickoff 66 yards for a touchdown and then added the two-point conversion run. Before the third quarter was over it was Hendrickson scoring again on a 32-yard touchdown dash with Jordan Smith adding the extra point. Isle managed a 1-yard touchdown run, but Cromwell's Shale Korpela added another touchdown giving the Cards a 47-12 lead after three quarters.

Adam Smith powered in from the 2-yard line early in the final quarter making it 53-12 before Isle added a pair of late scores to make the final 53-24.
