Luck was not on a Cloquet man's side last week when his alleged attempt to burglarize a Cloquet business was thwarted by police.
Not only was Jimmy Marvin Jubie Jr. caught in the act, but while police were arresting him, a man in a pickup truck pulled up to report items had just been stolen out of his vehicle. Those items were in Jubie's possession, according to Terry Hill, Cloquet deputy police chief.
Police arrived at the scene of the burglary last Wednesday night, after a security alarm tripped at Pinewood-Cloquet Inc. on 18th Street near Cloquet High School.
Officers found the main building, which provides program, community and in-house employment and transportation services to 81 adults with developmental disabilities and related conditions, to be secure.
When officers went to check a garage on the property, however, they shined a light near the door and Jubie poked his head out, Hill said. He then reportedly retreated, closing the door on officers.

Jubie was subsequently arrested at gunpoint, according to Hill. Officers reportedly found the door had been forced open and damaged and that items including tools had been moved off of shelves and toward the door.
At this time, a man who lived in the neighborhood arrived in a truck and reported it had been rifled through and several items, including tools, were missing. Police found the tools with Jubie.
Jubie, 27, was charged in Carlton County District Court Wednesday with one felony count of burglary and four related misdemeanors including theft, tampering with a motor vehicle, criminal damage to property and obstructing the legal process.
