Barnum left little doubt they are out to defend their Section 5A boys basketball title again with a convincing 92-55 first round win over Ogilvie on Tuesday night.

Last year, the Bombers made a strong run to the state tournament with a dynamic team. This year, with a 23-4 record, the Bombers have faced some stiff local competition which should make them even better at tournament time.

Curtis Houle and Dylan Eggen led the Bombers with 23 and 21 points, respectively, while Josh Earlywine dumped in 15 points to help ignite the Barnum offense against Ogilvie.

Barnum took a 51-26 halftime lead and cleared the bench throughout the second half as 14 different Bombers scored in the game.

Erik Johnson added six points to the Bomber cause, it was five for Kyle Duesler and four each for Austin Haley and Frankie Barrios. Also scoring for Barnum were Kyle Grimm with three, Jake Waseen, Mike Gilliuson, Steiner Aronsson, Alex Johnson and Jeff Dianoski with two points, and Brody Peterson finished with a point.
