A balanced offensive attack and a scrappy overall defensive performance gave Barnum a 3-0 win over McGregor in a Section 5A first-round volleyball match up on Monday.
The Bombers won by scores of 25-15, 25-17 and 25-15. Every time McGregor appeared to have some type of momentum with their offense the Bomber defense came up with a solid play to take control of the situation.
Katrina Newman finished with seven kills and 11 digs for the Bombers, Brigitte Veser added 11 set assists, Natasha Coulliard recorded 11 digs and Candice Paulson contributed seven digs for the Bombers in the victory.
The win moves Barnum into a Thursday match up against the Onamia Panthers the No. 2 seed in the section.
Barnum improved to 10-13 with the victory.
