Local members of Blue Star Gold Star Mothers of America Minnesota Chapter 3 will collect items to send to local military troops during a special event on Veterans Day, Tuesday, Nov. 11.
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., members of the group will be on hand in front of the Cloquet Wal-Mart store to accept donated items for care packages to be distributed as part of "Operation Holiday for our Heroes." WKLK will also be on hand doing remote broadcasts.
Folks are invited to stop by and donate items for local soldiers, stationed both in the United States and overseas. Some suggested items include toiletries, canned snack items, razors, batteries and socks.
