The 2013 Blue Jean Ball broke all of the previous records: a total of 330 guests attended, 41 organizations sponsored tables providing a bevy of wonderful gifts for those sitting at the tables, 120 live and silent auction items donated by 160 businesses and friends of the foundation and more funds were raised this year than ever before.
Several unique auction items included: a stay at the famous Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan, Ice Fishing Get Away, Algoma Central Railway scenic train tour, Soo Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, a week stay at the Shangri La Resort on Pelican Lake and a rare signed copy of "Lincoln: A Novel" by Gore Vidal.
The 12th Annual Blue Jean Ball raised $37,000 (almost $2,000 more than last year). Since 2002 this event has raised $196,000 in support of education for Cloquet students.
