Bette J. Larson (nee Howard), 86, of Holyoke, Minn., formerly of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, in St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth, Minn., after a brief illness. She was born April 30, 1921, to Raymond and Phyllis (Marshall) Howard in Des Moines. Bette was a member of the Des Moines AMVET Auxiliary Post 2 and the Grace Baptist Church in Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Larson; granddaughter Laura Larson; sister Marge; and brother Jack.
Bette is survived by her son, James (Barbara) of Holyoke; grandchildren, Linda Lee Larson of Pittsburgh, Kan., James (Tammy) Larson of Farmington, Minn., and Bobby Larson of Eagan, Minn.; great-grandchildren Cody, Shandy, Zack and Melissa; and a great-great-grandchild Marissa.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Dec. 26, from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service in Handevidt Funeral Home, Cloquet, Minn. Spring interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Cloquet.
