Bernard C. "Bernie" Hall, 62, of Barnum died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, in his home. He was born Sept. 11, 1944, in Bossier City, La., the son of Charles and Ethlyn Hall. Bernie was a 1962 graduate of Barnum High School. He married Lynne Harrington on Sept. 15, 1989, on Rainy Lake. Bernie was employed for 34 years for the Minnesota Department of Transportation in highway maintenance. He was a lifelong outdoorsman appreciating the environment, especially bird watching, fishing, hunting and gardening. He enjoyed working as a charter captain hosting fisherman on Lake Superior. Since his retirement from Mn/DOT, he has spent winters creating wood carvings and furniture. Bernie was a member of the Knife River Yacht Club.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles R. Hall.

Bernie is survived by his wife, Lynne Harrington Hall of Barnum; his children, Lonnie Hall of Florida, Tammy (Gary) Peterson of Apple Valley and William (Misty) Hall of Cloquet; a step-son, Adam (Sherrylynne) Harrington of Minneapolis; his mother, Ethlyn Hall of Moose Lake; his brother, Lee (Pam) Hall of Moose Lake; and his grandchildren, Justin, Brandon and Cole Peterson, Jasmine Hall and Drake and Aidan Harrington.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, in Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
